Hazard-Area Distribution Engineering for Oil & Gas

Refineries, petrochemical plants and offshore platforms combine hazardous areas, corrosive atmospheres and nonlinear loads on the same network. Kaiyue engineers distribution that answers classification, corrosion and power quality in a single coordinated design.

——Key Challenges

The atmosphere decides the equipment.

Oil and gas power distribution starts with the location, environmental conditions and permitted equipment scope. Refineries and offshore platforms concentrate hazardous areas, corrosion and nonlinear loads on one distribution network.

Hazardous operating environments

Corrosion and salt spray

High equipment reliability requirements

Voltage fluctuations

Harmonic distortion

Remote and complex operating environments

04 / Solution Modules

The engineering response, module by module.

Four modules align equipment, enclosure and power quality with the classified environment.

01

SWITCHGEAR

High-reliability switchgear

Proven medium voltage switchgear is available in air-insulated (AIS) or gas-insulated (GIS) configurations per project requirements. Safety interlocking, temperature monitoring and equipment condition monitoring provide earlier fault warning and dependable continuous operation.

02

EXPLOSION-PROOF

Explosion protection & environmental protection

Equipment is configured to hazardous-area classifications, applicable explosion-protection standards and project requirements. Corrosion-resistant, moisture-resistant and salt-spray-resistant designs extend long-term reliability for offshore platforms, coastal facilities and other harsh environments.

03

POWER QUALITY

Power quality management

Active harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation counter harmonics, reactive power and voltage fluctuations introduced by large motors, variable frequency drives and nonlinear loads. The result is improved power factor, power quality and stability for critical production equipment.

04

MONITORING

Intelligent power monitoring

Voltage, current, power, energy consumption, power quality, equipment status and fault data are acquired and monitored centrally across switchgear, transformers, UPS and critical circuits. Combined with communication networks and intelligent management platforms, this delivers status visualization, alarms, trend analysis and remote monitoring.
