——Case 04 / 07 · Oil & Gas

CNG/LNG station power on a 100-mu gas technology park.

Sichuan Chuanyou Natural Gas Technology operates a 100-mu park in Zigong’s high-tech zone, covering CNG/LNG/PNG refuelling stations, hydrogen production and storage, and gas-field EPC services — powered by a 10 kV intake to box-type substations with dual-source backup for fire and PLC controls.
01 / Project Overview

A multi-business gas technology park.

Sichuan Chuanyou Natural Gas Technology occupies more than 100 mu inside Zigong’s high-tech industrial park. Its business scope spans CNG, LNG and petroleum-gas refuelling station construction, hydrogen production, storage and high-temperature hydrogen fuel cells, CNG vehicle retrofitting, gas-storage well technology, geothermal investment, chemical and petroleum equipment and pipeline installation, oilfield technology, and natural gas supply, transmission and city-gas services.

Electrical design for the refuelling stations focuses on the dominant loads: CNG compressors at 75–250 kW (the largest single-unit load on site), dispensers at 5–15 kW per unit, LNG submerged pumps, air compressors, dehydration units, lighting, the station control system with PLC and UPS, combustible-gas detection and fire suppression. Load calculation uses the demand-factor method, with compressor demand factors of 0.7–0.85, and supply is taken from the 10 kV utility, stepped down through box-type substations to 380/220 V. Below 6 kV, dry-type equipment and dry-type transformers are used throughout. Fire and automation loads are classified Class 2 and backed by either two independent circuits or a gas/diesel generator.

What was delivered.

CNG compressor power train, box-type substations, station control and safety, and dual-source backup.

01

COMPRESSOR

CNG Compressor Power Train

The largest single-unit load on the park, CNG compressors range from 75 to 250 kW. Load sizing uses the demand-factor method with compressor factors of 0.7–0.85, supplying compressor motors, dispensers (5–15 kW each), LNG submerged pumps, air compressors and dehydration units from a dedicated LV distribution chain.

02

SUBSTATION

Box-Type Substation

A 10 kV utility intake is stepped down through box-type substations to 380/220 V for all station loads. Below 6 kV, dry-type equipment and dry-type transformers are used throughout, matching the safety and indoor-installation requirements of a gas technology site.

03

CONTROL

Station Control & Safety

The station control system is built on PLC cabinets with UPS-backed power, integrated with combustible-gas detection and fire-suppression circuits. Critical automation and fire loads are classified Class 2 and supplied by two independent circuits or by a gas/diesel generator.

03

BACKUP

Dual-Source Backup

Fire and automation systems are classified as Class 2 loads and protected with a dual-source scheme — either two independent utility circuits or a gas/diesel generator — so that single-source failures do not interrupt life-safety and station-control functions.
